How we work
Start with the need. We examine the problem you want to solve and whether AI offers meaningful advantages over other trusted, proven approaches. Choosing to defer or decline adoption is a valid outcome.
Evaluate value and exposure together. We assess expected benefits alongside risks to patient and research data, care continuity, vendor dependencies, and the full cost of implementation and oversight.
Make authority explicit. We design workflows with enforceable boundaries around the data and actions each task requires. We examine how ordinary use or intentional misuse could cause systems to apply unintended authority, redirect workflows, or expose sensitive information, including through external communications.
Validate before expanding. We test safeguards, failure scenarios, and fallback procedures before recommending broader use. Human oversight has defined responsibilities and clear points for intervention.
Document the decisions. We provide a written record of the adoption rationale, authorized uses, safeguards, remaining risks, and ownership—so leaders can revisit the decision as needs and conditions change.
Your Patients. Our Accountability.
You are accountable to your patients. Columbia ARC is accountable for the work we deliver. We put your care delivery, security, and business needs first, with clear responsibilities and candid advice—including when AI adoption is not justified. Our recommendations must serve your organization, not pressure you into technology investments that advance someone else’s growth.
